How to Enable Adobe Flash Player in Firefox

Adobe Flash Player facilitates videos and graphics when visiting websites.
With Flash Player being phased out with newer software, it’s no longer possible to keep Flash Player always enabled in Firefox. This means each time you visit a site requiring Flash Player to function, you will need to grant permission.

Additionally, unless Adobe has already been installed and added to your browser, you will have to install the software before updating the plugin in Firefox. (Skip to ‘Enable Flash in Firefox’ below if Adobe has already been added to to your browser.)

Add Adobe Flash Player to a Browser

NOTE: Before clicking ‘Install Now’ pay attention to the Optional offers section to avoid downloading bloatware. Uncheck the box next to any item you wish to skip. There is no need to install any of these items to continue.

  • Proceed by clicking ‘Install Now’
  • If you’re prompted to Save file or cancel, select ‘Save File’.
  • Using your keyboard, select Crtrl+J to open your downloads.
  • Drag and drop the download onto your desktop.
  • Close your Firefox window and double click the download to install.
  • BE SURE TO CLOSE FIREFOX OR ADOBE WON’T BE ADDED TO THE BROWSER AFTER INSTALL.

Enable Abode Flash Player with Mozilla Firefox Browser

  • Open a new Firefox window.
  • Select the ‘More’ options in the right corner (three horizontal lines).
  • From the menu click ‘Add ons’
  • In the panel on the left, select ‘Plugins’.
  • Where it says ‘Shockwave Flash’ find and click the 3 horizontal dots and select ‘Ask to Activate’.

Remember, each time you visit a site requiring Flash Player to function, you will need to grant permission. This will appear as a pop-up in your URL address bar where the website is displayed.

  • Select the pop-up and click ‘Allow’.
