Update .Net Framework – Programs won’t Run

.NET (pronounced dot net) is a framework that provides programming guidelines that can be used to develop a wide range of applications–––from web to mobile to Windows-based applications. The .NET framework can work with several programming languages such as C#, VB.NET, C++ and F#

Because of this, if .Net Framework is not up to date then this can prevent certain programs from being able to run.

You can quickly update this by going into the Session’s Toolbox > Technician > Current Installers.

In that folder you can run 2 files to help resolve the issue:

  • Net Framework(offline)4.7.2.exe
  • NetFxRepairTool.exe

You’ll want to start with the first one to be sure its installed and if you’re still seeing the same issue you can try the Repair tool.

If those fail another option would be running Windows updates.
If it shows any of the updates are .Netframework but won’t install or they keep failing, then copy that Update number and look it up in the Microsoft Update Catalog to download manually.

Here’s the link for that: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/home.aspx
